AIB Certified Food Grade Warehouse

Valley is an American Institute of Baking (AIB) certified warehouse and is registered with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

All products stored in our warehouse are handled with special care. Out of all other industries, food and beverage require the most crucial care. That’s why we invite AIB to come inspect our warehouse facilities annually. AIB was founded in 1919; Their mission is to ensure that food safety production capabilities are at the highest quality, while our mission is to provide the best food grade storage space possible. By inviting AIB to inspect our warehouse facilities, we are preventing food hazards and expensive recalls, while improving and maintaining a healthy, sanitary environment for food handling within our facilities.

AIB inspections evaluate the adequacy of five categories that a food grade warehouse must meet to keep products wholesome and safe.

  • Operational Methods and Personnel Practices

Focuses on food handling, processing and storing.

  •  Maintenance for Food Safety

Focuses on equipment, grounds, and structures.

  • Cleaning Practices

Focuses on cleaning and sanitizing the facility for a safe, clean environment.

  • Integrated Pest Management

Focuses on pest management and preventing pests from having the opportunity to thrive in a food environment.

  • Adequacy of Prerequisite and Food Safety Programs

Focuses on management and teamwork to make sure programs and practices are running smoothly.

“Every month, I physically inspect the interior, exterior and the grounds of our facilities. I inspect to make sure the buildings are being maintained for proper cleanliness in order to avoid cross-contamination and for any damages, openings or breaks in the structure of the buildings that may attract pests or insects. If I do find any leaks, breaks or openings anywhere, I notify the facilities manager to have it taken care of immediately.
